Words fail me and this is symptomatic of a failing industry.

I too have been through this process a couple of times simply when trying out new digital offerings from supposedly new and forward-thinking institutions.

On one occasion I gave up the process because they specified a certain file size when uploading my evidence of identity, and on the other I still had to go visit a branch.

On the plus side, there are one or two remarkable examples of new banking services which really know how to treat new customers - Revolut and Monese being cases in point.  Monzo and Atom are looking good too.

Get a grip, banks.
